The US Lacrosse U15 National Youth Festival, presented by Warrior, is coming to Golden Goal Lacrosse Park, June 20-22.  We are thrilled to have 51 teams representing over 16 different states and Canada, and five hailing from the local Adirondack US Lacrosse Chapter. The Youth Festival remains a celebration of the sport focused on participation and sportsmanship with no champions crowned or all-stars chosen.

We are still looking for willing and capable volunteers to help make the event a success.  Applicants must be above the age of 16, and roles may include Table Captains, Greeters or Field Crew - it’s up to you!  This is a great opportunity for Juniors and Seniors in high school to complete community service hours.

Click here if you are interested in volunteering and click here for more information about the event.  Thank you, in advance, for your support!

Dear lacrosse players, coaches and enthusiasts–

It’s time again for our boys’ January and February lacrosse leagues and instructional programs (for our instructional programs, please see note below).

Please read the attached form about specific details and registration for our leagues.  Our preseason lacrosse has expanded to include 3-5th Grade boys’ program this year.  We will also have new teams in our Varsity, JV/Freshman, and 6-8th Grade levels.

In an effort to make things run smoothly, I want to address three issues we had last year:

    1)  Last year some coaches told me that they would have a team or “x” number of players that would form a partial team, then they waited until the last minute to get their team in.  With all the new teams joining, I can foresee that some teams may be closed out by the registration deadline, so please get me all forms and rosters ASAP to secure your team’s spot.

    2)  Coaches, it is extremely important that you submit a roster of all the DEFINITE PLAYERS that are planning on playing for your team.  Last year we had players signing up that the coaches did not want on their Varsity team.  Example:  A 10th-grader that wanted to play Varsity, but coach was not aware.  Please give me your rosters ASAP to avoid this confusion.  You may even want to collect all the reigstrations for your team yourself and send them to me in one packet.  If a player registers from a certain school and requests a certain team, I will place the player on that team UNLESS I have a definite roster from that school’s coach.

    3)  The maximum number of players per team has dropped from 20 to 18 this year.  Also, I have given teams an option of going as low as 14 players if you meet the conditions as specified on page 2 of the attached registration form.  Doing this should help increase each player’s total playing time.

Thanks in advance for helping make this run smoothly.

Finally, we encourage all 3-5th and 6-8th, as well as 9-10th grade Beginner and Novice players to play in our Instructional Program , so they can be taught the proper way to play lacrosse by our highly experienced coaching staff.  Details are included on the attached form.

I look forward to hearing from you soon.  Please pass this e-mail along to any other lacrosse enthusiasts you may know.

    Very truly yours,

    Chad Finck

ATTENTION all 10th - 12th Graders - Our December 2nd College Recruiting Showcase has experienced a snag. December 2nd falls during a “quiet period” making it against NCAA rules for Division I Colleges to leave their campuses to recruit. This rule does not apply for Division II, Division III, and Junior Colleges. They can still come to our showcase and recruit. Because of this ruling we have decided to cut the fee for our showcase in half. It will now cost only $50 to play in three forty minute games that will be seen by Division II, Division III, and Junior College recruiters. We will also offer all Division I Colleges as opportunity to receive a copy of all of our players’ profiles. To learn more about our showcase and to register, go to www.capitallandlacrosse.com. Early enrollment is open through 8 pm November 30th. College recruiters are coming. ARE YOU?

    Dear Parents and Lacrosse Players,
We are pleased to announce that CAPITALLAND LACROSSE will be hosting a COLLEGE RECRUITING SHOWCASE on December 2, 2006 at the Sportsplex in Halfmoon.  We are proud to offer the student athlete this excellent opportunity to show their lacrosse abilities to many of the finest college lacrosse coaches in the nation.  All levels of college coaches have been invited, from national champions to local junior colleges.  Coaches from all over the United States have been informed.
Our showcase will feature the great wealth of talent that New York State’s Section 2 has to offer.  We have also invited teams from all over New York and the Northeast to come and participate.  We have notified teams from Long Island, Syracuse, West Chester County and Buffalo.  We have invited teams from Canada, Vermont, Massachusetts, and Connecticut.  This is all in an effort to market the special academic and athletic skills of our Section 2 lacrosse players.
Our showcase will offer each player plenty of high quality lacrosse.  It will also give you the opportunity to meet and talk with the college coaches.  Each college coach in attendance will receive a player profile on each player in the showcase.   If a college cannot attend, we will be able to forward our player profiles to them.  A player can register with their high school team or as a free agent.  This showcase gives an underclassman an excellent chance to be noticed and labeled as a player to watch.
Come join us for an afternoon of great lacrosse as we help you showcase your lacrosse skills.  To learn more about our showcase and to fill out a registration form and a player profile sheet, visit our web site at www.capitallandlacrosse.com.  If you have any questions e-mail us at chad@capitallandlacrosse.com or call us at 1-518-383-3245.  Feel free to pass this opportunity along to other interested players.
    See you on the fields,
